Tower of Chain

A column made out of chain, with the links welded together. This gives many interesting possibilites for restraint.
You can put a person facing out. You can also have the person facing inwards, stretched out or hugging the column. Another variant is to have to persons facing each other, watching each other.
The construction is built by wrapping spirals of chain around a tube, for example a cardboard tube, and weld all the links together. When the welding is done, remove the tube and weld the feet in place.
The OpenSCAD file has parameters for the measurements, but you will have to fine tune them for the tops of the spiral to meet up properly.
The column can be removed from the base with wing nuts. It's a bit more cumbersome to store than most of my constructions, but you can just remove the base and put the column in plain view with a fake fire lamp or a plant in it, making it look like a home decoration detail.
